Set in a Staten Island apartment over the Christmas holiday, The Crumple Zone is a sharply funny and ultimately poignant comedy about friendship, love, betrayal and the complications of relationships. Four friends and an unexpected visitor find themselves trapped together in one apartment, where romantic entanglements, personality clashes, drunken behaviour and long-held secrets quickly cause tensions to erupt.
At the centre is Terry, an out-of-work actor whose life is complicated by a messy love triangle involving his friends. As the Christmas weekend descends into arguments, revelations, fights, tears and reconciliation, the play explores the things that can drive people apart — and the bonds that keep them together.
